The metal jacketing shear is designed to cut light gauge sheet metal, plastic, or paper. Metal jacketing shears are used for the protection of thermal insulation in multiple applications. Rolls of material up to 400 lbs are supported by the roller cradle. The material is pulled out under the shear blade and cut by manually lowering the blade.
See what other types of sheet metal fabrication equipment Forrest makes that can help you with your next project.
Demonstration for the Forrest Manufacturing Model 648 Jacketing Shear
Demonstration of assembly of the Forrest Model 648 jacketing shear. The Model 636 goes together the same way.
This video demonstrates assembly of the Forrest Model 548 work table and how to attach it to either a Model 648 or Model 636 jacketing shear. This is the unedited version. In the near future we will post a shorter version with all the boring bits cut out. Unless you really like watching two people tighten bolts and camera shifts.
